We thought that it was about time we told you something about the people that make Noukhada Adventure Company work. Noukhada relies on an eclectic mix of full time staff, volunteers, associate paddlers and heroes.
Annie‘s educational qualifications consist of a Dip T (Primary School Teaching), a BEd (University of Waikato, NZ) and a Trinity College, London – Certificate in TESOL. She has over 11 years teaching experience with management roles and before focusing on Noukhada, spent 3 years working in Emirate government primary schools as an education advisor (Public Private Partnership – Abu Dhabi 2007-2010) mentoring teachers through curriculum changes and new pedagogical practices. She is also first aid trained and certified.
Hasan comes from Abu Dhabi and is co-owner and local partner of the business as well an active local and regional eco warrior. He has a Masters and PhD in Education and is the Founder of Environment Friends Society UAE. He is also a Founder of the Gulf Network for environment organisations (NGOs) and a member of IUCN. He is one of the original contributors to the Emirates Marine Encyclopedia. Hasan takes an active interest in the business and this is reflected in his Twitter messages.
Mark and Don founded the business back in 2008 from a shared passion of the environment, sailing and exploring the coastal waters of Abu Dhabi. He is an RYA windsurfer, dinghy helm and coastal skipper, as well as BCU 2 star certified and first aid trained and certified. Mark’s educational qualification is a BSc in Engineering Science (Warwick University, UK) and he has held numerous training jobs varying from teaching English to Gurkhas (HK), leadership instructor at RMA Sandhurst (UK) to General Manager of BSI Training and Consultancy. A two year stint as Project Manager for the Institute of Environmental Assessment (now IEMA) gave him better knowledge and understanding of ecology and environmental sciences. He has been leading kayak tours and eco tours in the mangroves for over five years as well as developing and leading the expanding schools programme for Noukhada Education.
